Description
Adding bump stops to our NEW Trail Series long-travel kit or stock length performance lower arms is easy with our Slapper Bump Stop kit since the lower arm is already tabbed for it. This kit also double shears the upper arm frame pivots for a ton more strength and rigidity. We also offer a non-UCA gusset version for simpler installations that just includes the weld on frame mount for the bump stop. Adding a bump stop adds a ton more control and bottoming resistance. This allows for a soft plush ride through the small stuff that doesnât bottom out easily through the bigger hits and g-outs. Why a slapper arm setup you ask? The main benefit is it allows the air bump to strike further outboard on the lower arm making it much more effective and efficient. Weâre able to keep the motion ratio geometry consistent through the bottoming out travel so there is constant contact with the lower arm and the bump stop isnât swiping the lower arm. The bump stops only comes into play toward bottoming and allows free movement in the âride zoneâ so the suspension is more active in that range. With the slapper arm design weâre also able to incorporate a rubber pad to reduce noise on contact. Last but not least, itâs really cool too. This is designed for our custom FOX bump stops that work more like an air shock. Weâve spent extensive time testing getting these dialed in for our kit. We have the FOXâs cerakoted gray which is a high performance ceramic coating used in FOXâs trophy truck race shocks. We supply aircraft AN bolts for the upper and lower mounts that have the proper grip/shoulder length for maximum strength. NEW we now offer a custom FOX 2.0 option for customers looking to save a little money and not needing as much bottoming control for milder off-roading.
